Franklin Trujillo is a professional Venezuelan photographer who lives in Miami, FL. He consideres himself a portraitist whose main goal is to capture what people want to say or transmit (a feeling, an expression, a desire). Through his lens, he immortalizes moments and experiences.
Trujiyorkfotografo as a project was created at the beginning of the pandemic (2020) when I found myself at home with a lot of time on my hands and without much to do, so I decided to learn a trade that had always interested me: photography.
At that time photography had been a hobby, and although I wanted to learn more and improve, I had never had the time to sit down, study, take lessons, or even set up my camera, a semi-professional Nikon that I had bought in 2019 with the idea of doing street photography (which was the style of photography that I liked the most and also the style of photography that I felt capable of doing right). I told my wife that I wanted to go out with my camera and start taking pictures- so we did it. But when we got home, I was so frustrated to see the results. I immediately began to study, going deep into the wonderful world of photography.
That's how Trujiyorkfotografo got started.
I saw the best photographers on YouTube imparting knowledge, and following them and other greats on Instagram not only inspired me, but it also helped me learn a lot. As I was studying I was also doing street photography, and then with time I started stopping and asking people if I could take photos of them. By doing this I got the practice that I needed, and also noticed that people liked my work. At one point my wife was telling me that I had an incredible talent, my friends only had nice words about my work, and people who didn't know me were asking me for collaborations and saying kind things about the portraits I was taking.
All of this fueled my passion for photography, so I began investing in lenses, flashes, and others. Nothing very expensive, but what was functional for me. One day, my wife coordinated a first photo shoot in collaboration with a model who used to go to the same nail salon as her. After this everything changed! Not only was the experience wonderful, but the images were incredible! After having done this work I thought to myself, "I think I will dedicate myself to being a photographer!", so I did it. In January 2021 my wife and I decided to focus 100% on this wonderful project. We exchanged all our photography equipment for the best on the market. We did it with the greatest faith, not only because we wanted to work, but because we wanted our work to be outstanding. We didn't want to take just a few more photos, we wanted to make art, and in order to do that you don't only need excellent instruments, but technique, expertise, and enthusiasm. We feel our greatest joy when we see expressions of happiness and satisfaction in our clients. It is not only that the photo has good resolution, sharpness, color balance, etc., it is also that the photographed people feel and know that they have never looked better in a photo, or that they had never transmitted such beautiful energy and vibes in a portrait.
Experience has taught us that listening to our customers and understanding their needs and goals, mixed with excellent photography equipment, talent, passion, and creativity, are the keys to achieve successful results.
